A collection of 1,248 manuscripts, of which 543 are works written for the ecclesiastical celebrations of La Seu, composed by the chapel masters and organists of the cathedral between the 17th and 20th centuries: J. Verdalet; J. Gas; F. Soler; A. Gaudí; T. Milans; E. Gònima; F. Juncà; J. Balius; D. Arquimbau; J. Pons; R. Compta; J. J. Lleys; F. Crehuet; P. Baltasar; J. Carreras; J. Casademont; M. Rué; J. Perramon; J. Colomer and F. Civil. The same series features a repertoire of teachers who were active in Barcelona cathedral and in the large parishes of Santa Maria del Mar, Santa Maria del Pi, the Countess Palace, as well as those at the cathedrals in Vic, Tarragona, Tortosa, La Seu and Lleida, also including the Montserrat Choristers’ School. Reception of the international ecclesiastical repertoire of Baroque and Classicism is represented in the Stabat Mater by G. B. Pergolesi and F. J. Haydn, of whom two symphonies are also conserved, jointly with two symphonies by I. Pleyel and C. Stamitz, four by the Lisboan Joao Pedro de Almeida and two by Ramon Carnicer. |
